Memorial Day

We took Devin to the cemetery today in honor of Memorial Day and told him about the sacrifices others have made for his freedom.

BBQ

We went to a BBQ at Auntie Mel's house. Devin and Natalie had a lot of fun together. Later he tripped on the cement in the back yard - he and the cement did not have so much fun together.

Devin scraped his forehead this morning. It's the worst injury he's had so far. He seemed recovered about a minute later.

Happy Mother's Day!

We took Nana Jane to brunch today. She got Devin a little horn/kazoo. He somehow knew how to use it right away and spent the day making music. A video of this is certainly in order.

After brunch we went on a hike. We found a California Newt near the parking lot so we returned him to safer habitat near the stream. He seemed grateful.

Hike Today

We got a hiking backpack for Devin and tried it out for the first time. He loved it. Afterwards we stopped at a picnic area where Devin made new friends and enjoyed reading the pamphlets on butterflies and wildflowers. He also tried eating them but was not as successful.

Sunny Day

It was warm and sunny and so clear that the views of downtown San Francisco were postcard perfect. We took Devin to the top of the hill and he practiced running on the grass. He's getting pretty good.
